MealMutt ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website at https://mealmutt.com (the "App").

• Name — when you join our email waitlist (optional)
• Email address — when you join our waitlist or subscribe to Pro
• Dog profile data — name, weight, age, activity level (stored locally on your device only, never sent to our servers)
• Payment information — processed directly and securely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details.
• How you found us — optional referral source you select on the waitlist form

2. How We Use Your Information

• To send you weekly dog nutrition tips, new recipes, and MealMutt updates
• To notify you about MealMutt Pro early access and new features
• To process your subscription payment via Stripe
• To improve the app based on general usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

3. Third-Party Services

MealMutt uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• USDA FoodData Central API — used to fetch live ingredient nutrition data. No personal data is sent to USDA.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

MealMutt uses your browser's localStorage (not traditional cookies) to store:

• Your saved dog profiles — so you don't have to re-enter them each visit
• USDA nutrition data cache — to speed up the app and reduce API calls
• Your Pro subscription status
• Your waitlist signup email — so we don't ask you to sign up twice

This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to MealMutt servers. You can clear it anytime through your browser settings.

5. Children's Privacy

MealMutt is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request deletion of your email from our waitlist at any time
• Unsubscribe from all email communications at any time
• Cancel your Pro subscription at any time through Stripe

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant. Email delivery is handled by EmailJS using encrypted connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
